Path Pro FAQ's

Does the Path Pro work for left-handers too?

Absolutely...All you have to do is spin the arm around in the opposite direction and it's identical and equally effective.

What if I hit the yellow pad?

The yellow Path Pad is made of a new high-density foam that is impact resilient. However, due to the single leg design of the Path Pro, if the Path Pad is hit, the arm will simply spin out of the way. Nothing flies off so there's no need to chase anything. And, it won't hurt you or your clubs if it's struck.

Is the Path Pro more for beginners or advanced players?

The answer is BOTH. The Path Pro was designed with the fundamentals in mind and they never vary, regardless of your playing ability. There is so much you can do with the Path Pro, that regardless of your skill level, you'll find several fixes and exercises design for you.

How do I determine what the right use is or the correct position for my problem?

It's simple. Included with your Path Pro is our Basic Uses DVD and our pocket reference guide. Just find your problem in either one and they show you how to adjust the Path Pro into position and correctly use it to fix that problem.

Where should I place the ball?

The best part about the Path Pro is, there's nothing that says you have to do it just one way. This tool is so versatile that it allows you to work at your own pace. You position the Path Pad and set your ball where you want them and where you are most comfortable. You have complete flexibility.

How heavy is the Path Pro?

The Path Pro weighs a little over 6 pounds. A majority of the weight is in the base, for stability, yet ease of movement.

Can the Path Pro stand up in the wind?

Yes. The Path Pro has been tested in winds up to 50 MPH. Due to its unique pyramid style, weighted base, it's designed to work well even in the wind. However, it's never recommended to practice in extremely high winds.

Does the Path Pro stake into the ground?

No. The design of the pyramid style, weighted base makes it unnecessary to stake down in any way. As a result, it can be easily moved from spot to spot as your divots increase.

What needs to be assembled?

There's really no assembly required. You simply set the pyramid style base down wherever you want to set up, insert the Path Pro's leg into the base, adjust the knobs and move the Swing Arm and Path Pad into the desired positions according to the instructional material provided. It's that simple.

Is the Path Pro (trans)portable?

Yes. Because there's no assembly necessary and since you get the handy carry bag with your purchase, taking the Path Pro with you has never been easier. It even fits in your golf bag.

What position should I start the Path Pad in?

The most common position for 85% of all golfers is in the "Expand the Impact Zone" position. The reason is that it eliminated a slice by preventing the over the top move while acting as a great alignment guide. In this position, it also, forces you to swing your arms and hands on the correct path leading to much more solid shots. You will also be forced to take the club away in the proper position, every time. It insures that you stay down and steady while following through all the way beyond impact. Finally, it encourages a much squarer clubface at impact by expanding the impact zone.

How low / high should I set the Path Pad to start?

Set the Path Pad where you are most comfortable. The object is not to hit the pad but instead to miss the pad. See where you are most comfortable with the pad's height above the ground and your distance from it. Work to get the pad to "0" on the dial while setting up as close to it as possible. This will take time but will be well worth it once mastered.

What's the objective of the dial?

The Swing Performance Dial allows you to set the arm in varying positions and note those positions with the dial so that you can easily reset the next time you work with your Path Pro. In addition, the dial gives you benchmark numbers to work against while attempting to decrease the settings over time.

Which way should I set the Path Pro up to stop my slice?

The best way to correct a slice using the Path Pro is to set it up where the Path Pad hovers horizontally above the ground and in front or just above your hands. This will guide you and have you swing your arms and hands down your intended target line while coming from the inside and eliminating the over the top move which causes most slices. You can start out setting up slightly away from the pad and as you get more comfortable, you can move closer and lower the pad slightly.

Should the black tubing be on the right side or left side of the Path Pad when I set up to it?

The black swing arm tubing should always attach to the Path Pad closest to your target. More skilled players have used it on its opposite side but the risk that you run in this position is contacting the tubing if you make a mistake. Having it set up as described above limits any chance you have of hitting anything other than the foam Path Pad should you make a mistake.

There are so many position…how do I know which one is right for me?

The great part about the Path Pro is its versatility. Different problems can come and go in our swings and as they appear, the Path Pro can be adjusted to correct them. Simply refer to the pocket reference guide or Basic Uses DVD, find your problem and it shows you how to adjust the arm and use the Path Pro to immediately eliminate that particular swing flaw.

The Path Pro is uniquely designed to provide the most number of swing fixes because of its emphasis on two distinct problems: improper swing path and poor body positions. Why do I need the over-swing extension?

The overswing extension is a valuable addition if you want to stop your swing in any position including eliminating overswinging at the top of the backswing. Most people have a problem with over-swinging but can't feel where to stop the club at the top. With this piece in place, you can position the pad over your shoulder and instantly feel AND see where the club should stop. By repeating it, you insure that it gets engrained. An additional use allows you to point the foam pad at your trailing shoulder then helps you complete a shoulder turn by forcing you to turn the lead shoulder until it points to or touch the pad.

What happens if the base to my unit comes apart?

The weighted base is made of 2 separate parts. The first is the decorative cap and the second is the weighted mass beneath. They are held together with four corner screws. If yours comes apart, simply remove all four screws and their accompanying washers. Then take the decorative cap and insert a dab of epoxy in each of the screw hole posts. Put the two pieces back together and screw the four corner screws back into place. However, leave the washers off so that the screws can dig a little deeper and set in the epoxy. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE SCREW. Only tighten until they snug up. The epoxy will do the rest.
